The Camino de Santiago, Filmed Day by Day

Spain · Camino de Santiago

The Camino, filmed day by day.

Eight hundred kilometres from Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port to Santiago de Compostela, and then on to the coast. We filmed the lot. Thirty eight days, eighteen episodes, no filter on the blisters.

These were shot as we walked, on whatever we had in a pocket. They are not polished. They are what it actually looked like, which is rather the point.

If you are planning your own and want the practical side rather than the diary, start with everything we have written about the Camino.

What we would tell anyone thinking about it

Train with the pack you are actually going to carry, not a lighter one. Book nothing beyond the first two nights. Take half the clothes and twice the blister plasters. And do not race the people you meet on day three, because you will be walking with them for a month.

More of ours from the same trip is over in Spain.
