epic encounter

We had the most amazing time in Kuching, Borneo and to top it off was the encounter with the Orangutans at The Semenggoh Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre. All the Orangutans were free to come and go as they please, these majestic animals need all the help we can give them. We were lucky enough to have a guided walk through the dense rain forest (the walk had been closed due to an incident with one of the Orangutans). Whilst we didn’t see any Orangutans on the walk we did come out of the forest with a find collection of leeches stuck to our boots and socks.

At the Bako National Park we came across the proboscis monkey as well as Long – tailed macaques monkeying around in a large puddle. The downside of the park was the amount of litter that had been washed up on the latest tide. The 500m trek (yes really it was a trek) took us the best part of 40 mins and left us totally drenched, maybe we are just so unfit, but it was a blast.
